Welcome Miss Sophie

Welcome Miss Sophie!

Sophie is a rescue cat about 10 years old. She's a small lady.

When she first came home, she leaped out of the carrier and strolled right on out to the hall and started exploring.

So much for keeping her in one room for a few days - that advice really bothered me but I was willing to do whatever I needed to make her feel at home.

Sophie had a hard time getting up on the ledge but once she figured it out, she mastered the leap from the tub to the counter to the ledge. I cringed when she missed it the first few times.

She leapt up to the bed to sleep with me her first night and always comes when she thinks I'm ready for bed. Sometimes even when she thinks I should be ready for bed.

Sunbathing is a favorite past time

Once I'm asleep, she wanders off to play and explore and then takes a nap in Millie's old bed.  I thought I removed all the cat beds but apparently. I missed one or two.

poor baby is tired

Nice & quiet nap spot

Welcome home Sophie!

  1. Oh, Carla - Miss Sophie is just beautiful! I love that you also adopted an older kitty. The shelters tell me they take the longest to get adopted, which is so sad. I know what you mean about keeping them in one room for the first days/weeks. I did do that with our new Mr. Buffy, mostly because of all his medical issues. I wanted to make sure he didn't go into hiding in a closet or under a bed where I wouldn't be able to reach him as I wanted to monitor how he was doing very closely in the beginning. Well, enjoy your beautiful Sophie! She is a very lucky kitty!!!
